Christian Van Riper is our firm's principal criminal defense and family law litigator. Christian spent years working as a Florida Assistant State Attorney (SAO), where he prosecuted and tried misdemeanor and serious felony cases. Here, Christian honed his jury trial skills and ability to think and litigate effectively under intense pressure and high volume case loads. Prior to his service to the people of Florida as a prosecutor, Christian was selected, based on his high law school grades and skill, to serve as a Law Clerk for the Florida Supreme Court. Here he worked for Supreme Court Justices on complex civil and criminal appeals. Prior to law school, Christian was an investigator with the Department of Children and Families (DCF), where he investigated cases of child abuse and neglect. Christian's experience working for the State of Florida distinguishes him from other Martin County family and criminal defense attorneys.
